20th Street Offices

The 20th Street Offices serve as creative working studios for three design firms in Santa Monica, California and is currently pursuing a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold rating by the United States Green Building Council.

An array of solar panels sits atop a long tube perched above the ground with a surrounding envelope of diamond patterned sheet metal panels. Solar glass on the west façade, low flow plumbing fixtures, as well as a host of many recycled and environmentally friendly building materials help the building stand out as a new green addition to the city.

By taking a ‘lead by example’ stance on building responsibly, Belzberg Architects has not only designed a building which can be used for future clients and visitors to experience and visualize the possibilities of building green, they now have a test subject to experiment with future green building products and initiatives.
